Designblok 2024

For the first time Harrachov Glassworks participated in Designblok festival, where it showcased its iconic products as well as fresh novelties by the LLEV design studio.

The oldest still-working Czech glassworks, Harrachov, participated in the Prague International Design Festival Designblok for the first time. At the largest design and fashion show in Central and Eastern Europe, Harrachov prepared the exhibition project called Colors of the New World which showcased its rich history and diverse palette of 13 iconic drinking-glass collections. The collections were selected from their broad portfolio and partially updated by designers from studio LLEV – Eva and Marcel Mochal, who now hold the position of Head of Design at the glassworks, in collaboration with the glassworks' in-house artist Ivana Müllerová. Additionally, as part of the special curated High Craft exhibition in the magnificent Riding Hall of Prague Castle, Harrachov Glassworks introduced three brand new collections: Honey, Hush, and Dot.

"For many years, our glassworks focused primarily on developing custom production for clients worldwide. The United States was our most significant market, though Italy has taken the leading position in the past two years. Until now, however, customers abroad had no way of knowing that their glasses originated from Harrachov. This year, we're introducing an entirely new concept. At Designblok festival, we're offering original products created either by our in-house artists or in collaboration with top designers. Studio LLEV was the first design studio we approached for this purpose. We've known Eva and Marcel Mochal for several years, and our collaboration naturally and quickly evolved into a broader dimension. Today, they hold the position of Head of Design at our company and have significantly contributed to selecting collections for our new catalog, created our new brand identity, website, and three new collections," said Petr Novosad, owner of Harrachov Glassworks, adding: "We greatly value the invitation to participate in the selective High Craft exhibition, and we see it as recognition of the steps we're taking in collaboration with studio LLEV."
