Designblok Awards 2024

The HONEY collection by studio LLEV was shortlisted as one of three finalists in the Best Launched Product by Producer category, and studio LLEV emerged as the winner of the Impact Award.

The Designblok Awards are presented annually during the festival. The jury, composed of independent international journalists, designers, curators, and other design and architecture professionals, evaluates and awards the best concepts, innovations, new products, and presentations. An international jury headed by co-CEO of Dezeen online magazine Benedict Hobson selected and acclaimed the winners of the festival’s top honors in seven categories.

"We particularly value this nomination as it came from personalities who are deeply familiar with the international design scene context. The jury included Ben Hobson (Dezeen), Yoko Choy (Wallpaper editor), and Emma Marga Blanche and Fredrik Färg (designers and founders of FÄRG & BLANCHE studio). This year, our collaboration with the Harrachov Glassworks has materialized into tangible forms. At Designblok, Prague International Design Festival, we premiered three novelties that expand the tableware and gift glass portfolio of the Harrachov Glassworks brand," say Eva and Marcel Mochal.

The HONEY collection, executed in honey amber hues, captivates with organic shapes inspired by flowing honey. Its distinctive feature is a prominent stable base that provides both unique aesthetics and comfortable handling to glasses and vases alike. Behind the simplicity of this design lies the masterful craftsmanship of Harrachov glassmakers. Our inspiration came from honey - glass's cousin in its hot form.

For the first time in history, the festival awarded its Impact Award. This award used to be given for sustainable design in the past. But based on feedback received from international juries, the organizers decided to open the category to a broader range of achievements. “With this award, we wanted to celebrate and bring attention to the work of LLEV studio, whose contribution in one particular sphere is immense. LLEV studio works with two very traditional companies – the Harrachov Glassworks and Rautis, the Poniklá-based Christmas decorations manufacturer. By means of new collections, creative leadership, rebranding, and other activities, they help ensure the companies’ successful future,” added jury president Benedict Hobson.
